Data Presentation

Data can be presented in multiple manners such as simple numbers arranged in the form of a table or the same information simplified into a chart or a graph that shows the trend in the data. Data presentation makes sense for the people who interact with it and need to make decisions and inferences about the data from a single glance at its presentation. By presenting information in the simplest manner possible, it becomes possible for the users to get the meaning of all the aspects of the data they are working with and as such, they are in a better position to utilize the data.

For the web, data can be presented in diverse ways such as tables, graphs, charts and other graphical representations that the web designer might decide to come up with. Regardless of the data presentation form used, the interaction designed must be able to establish a simple way of looking at the patterns of the information and what shape or form the data takes in order to make the best impact at the user. For the information user, they will not have to spend too much time concentrated on a  single representation of the data but will instead skip over it if it seems too complicated.

The elaborate representation of data to users is what makes the data presentation beneficial to its users and information analysis is quite simple as long as patterns are easy to observe from the way the data is laid out. In addition to this, the ease of presenting the data to the user makes it very convenient for the information to be summarized into multiple forms that show the same patterns in different forms. A chart can be used to give an overview of what the data entails while a table lays it out in the form or rows and columns.

The tabular arrangement of data also makes it possible for simple computations and calculations to be carried out on the information. The user will simple make simple correlations from the information they are looking at and from this be able to make decisions that have the best impact for the task or project they are currently engaged in. In many cases, the use of tables makes the data reveal its patterns and not hide any detail to the reader who needs a clear picture of the data in order to make meaningful conclusions for them.

In conclusion, the process of making interfaces that are simple and efficient also involve data presentation that is simple and beautiful to look at as well as being efficient. Working with data that has been conveniently laid out is really amazing for the users and places them in a position where they can easily correlate patterns in the information and whatever it is they are currently working on. Applications that represent data require such simple designs in order to reduce the amount of time taken looking at the data while allowing for more insight to be gained from a  simple glance of the data.
